BUYING USED GUNS
Whether you have been a shooting enthusiast or a hunter for many years, or you are in the market to buy a gun for the first time, used guns are an excellent option for you. But there are a few things you should think about before answering that ad online, or handing over your hard earned cash to a friend of your brother-in-law’s.
Buy From Someone You Trust
A novice buying a used gun from a private individual on the Internet, or from someone you do not know, is not recommended. A gun shop with a good gunsmith, and a good reputation is normally looking for a long-term customer. Therefore, you can rest assured that they will have inspected the gun, repaired or adjusted it as necessary, and that it is safe for you to purchase. Reputable used gun dealers have turned to the Internet for buying and selling guns, but you are able to research their reputation and credentials online before you purchase.
All firearms purchased from Dury’s Gun Shop, Inc., NEW or USED, ARE COVERED BY A LIFETIME WARRANTY. We will repair or replace, at our discretion, any firearm purchased from Dury’s Gun Shop, Inc. for as long as the purchaser owns it. This warranty is not transferable.
Advantages of Used Guns
A quality firearm is built to last. So an investment in a used gun can be a better investment over time than other types of goods or collectables. There are a few advantages to buying used guns. You can usually save a little money on your gun purchase, and secondly you may want to acquire a used gun that is no longer in production. Guns have a history of holding their value, so with proper care, a gun can usually maintain its value throughout your ownership. Lastly, many used guns have been “broken in”; in other words, they may have been fired many times to smooth out the barrel and ensure there are no malfunctions.
*Safety Note: Before handling any firearm, always open the action and verify that both the chamber and the magazine are empty. Remove the magazine if possible. Every time a firearm changes hands, it should be cleared.
